Silica Benefits

Silica benefits stronger nails, hair and skin, basically, if you are aging take silica mineral.

What is silica - it is what holds you together, without it, you could fall apart!  It is very important for connective tissue (collagen formation) and development, bone and cartliage.  It is a  trace element, a mineral that is only present in the body in tiny concentrations.

It is one of the most common elements in the earth; some forms of rock and stone contain silicon.

It can help strengthen your hair, you are less likely to suffer from split ends and dull looking hair.  If you are taking this particular mineral, you will not have to spend a fortune on hair care products, as your hair will be healthier, stronger, and thicker.

I have been taking it for ever it feels like, and I can see and feel a difference.   My fingernails no longer break like they used to, and there is an improvement in the thickness of my hair, it looks and feels great.

When we are young, our bodies are able to absorb and maintain high levels of  this mineral, so that our bodies remain flexible, energetic and resilient.

Silica is the reason why children have such beautiful smooth skin and silky hair.   As we age, this supply starts to deplete which results in a lot of our aging problems.

It has also been found that Calcium and Vitamin D alone are not sufficient for bone strength; silica is what helps with calcium absorption.

Foods with Silica; cucumbers, oats, brown rice, wheat, strawberries, onions and avocados.

Without it, you are unable to maintain adequate collagen and may experience dry skin, hardening or arteries, digestion problems, weak teeth and gums, wasting or the decrease in the size of organs or tissue.

We are hard pressed to find enough of it in our foods.  It is primarily found in oats, barley, wheat, millet, rice, potatoes, asparagus, cucumbers, cabbage, sunflower seeds, onions  and strawberries.  It can also be found in herbs such as; horsetail, comfrey and nettle.

Unfortunately, many of the foods today such as barley, wheat and rice are refined to a point, where all this important mineral has been removed.

Trace minerals such as this one are also rare in our diets, because of processed food and soil depleted by chemical treatments.

Benefits of Silica:

The middle-aged to elderly, may be able to prevent Alzheimer’s disease by supplementing with this mineral.

Women with vaginal problems or cysts, and men with prostate problems will feel an improvement with the benefits of silica.

You will notice silica benefits around 3 months of taking it, in supplement form.

I have been taking silica supplements for as long as I can remember. Yes, I find that silica really helps in improving hair, skin & nail condition, making the healthier and more resilient. I can see the results especially my nails which are relatively strong and sturdy. Am 31 years old now and have not had a “break” from silica supplements. Would that be dangerous? What are the side effects/adverse reactions if one doesnt take a break from silica supplements?

No, there are no adverse reactions if you don’t take a break from it. Sometimes it is just good for your body to have a little break from supplements……..

I have been told that women with implants should not take silica. Is this correct and why?

Hi! I have the same question as Jenny. I was informed that women with silicone implants must stay away from silica? Is this true? Please advise urgently! Thank you!

I am not a doctor, but I really don’t understand how silica the mineral can be compared to silicon breast implants. Although they are both from the same classification, they are very different. Silica is harmless and your body already has this mineral, it just depleates with age. I hope this helps.

I am really not to certain if silicon will effect breast implants, you should ask a doctor, the reason I think that it is said not to take silicon with implants is because silicon helps to push toxions & foreign objects out of the body such as like kidney stones, splinters & glass shards & is sometimes perscribed for that purpose. So I think it may possible that silicon could irritate implants if taken a high dose, consult your doctor ask if there are any concerns to taking silicon with implants, silicon is an essential nutrient.

    Hi,
Is silica safe for pets? I had a cat with really bad kidney stones and now I wish I had known about silica because she ended up dying of complications with that condition.
I am wondering if I should give it to my current cat, who is healthy but is a Persian and therefore prone to kidney stones?
Anyone know? My vet wouldn’t know, she does not specialize in holistics…that is the answer I got from her anyway.
