Organic Mineral Makeup

Organic mineral makeup is a great way of helping protect your skin from the sun, and by using a natural mineral makeup foundation you also protect your skin with natural ingredients.

The best mineral makeup has no preservatives, is inorganic (substances which are of mineral origin) and contains no moisture, making it impossible to harbour any bacteria.

There are many ingredients in mineral  makeup and knowing what they are and which ones you should avoid, will help you become better equipped in making a decision on is best for your skin.

Some people have complained a  powder makes them look older, is irritating, accentuates lines, and dark skinned women  may have trouble finding a suitable skin color match.

If you do feel lines are more accentuated, try another brand, you may find this is all it takes.  I use a powder and I find it makes any lines look less noticeable.

The powder can be quite drying for some skin types, and is usually better suited for normal to slightly oily skin.  If it is too drying for you, go for a liquid.

On the other side of the coin, many rave about how light and natural it is, gives a lovely glow, which you simply cannot get from other cosmetics.  It is very popular for women with rosacea, scarring and acne as it provides great coverage, is long lasting and has natural anti inflammatory properties.

Organic mineral makeup does not contain any added chemical preservatives, dyes or perfume.   Without these added chemicals you are less likely to suffer from any irritants to your skin; there is also less risk of an allergy, as it will not clog your pores.

It is these health claims for your skin which attracts many people to wearing mineral products, and when you are striving to only put the best onto your skin and turn back the clock, it makes a very appealing choice.

When choosing an organic mineral makeup product, you want to avoid one with these chemicals in them;

The best mineral makeup is one which does not use the above chemicals.

French velvet talc, is another ingredient you may find in some products, yet it is quite safe for you skin and provides exceptional silkiness, absorption and improved translucency.

This type of makeup lasts longer than conventional makeup, and will protect your skin from the sun, as it is effective in blocking UVA and UVB rays.  Two ingredients in mineral makeup that make it an effective sun block are; titanium dioxide and zinc oxide.

A little goes a long way, you don’t need to use as much as conventional makeup.  Covering your skin with mineral makeup foundation will help provide protection from pollutants in the air, while still allowing your skin to breathe, and help give you natural clear skin.

Be careful when using your mineral powder, the best way is to tip the amount you require into a bowl or the lid of the powder, and using your brush swirl it around in the powder and gently tap on the side of bowl or lid any excess off, then brush on your face and neck in a circular motion.

Using the best mineral makeup gives you the best looking complexion.  Personally, I could not leave the house without my organic mineral makeup on.

It means we can use mineral makeup even for hypersensitive skin.

Can you recommend specific brands of mineral make-up? With the number of available products out there, it’s really difficult which brand offers genuine mineral make-up. Thanks!

I use Laura Mercier mineral powder in soft porcelain shade. It’s the ONLY mineral foundation I found that match exactly my extremely fair skin. It gives a very pretty glow and an airbrushed finish that I don’t find with liquid foundation and it lasts all day without melting. My skin is quite dry so I gotta make sure that it’S well moisturized. I will keep this foundation all my life lol.

    You mentioned,
“Organic mineral makeup does not contain any added chemical preservatives, dyes or perfume. Without these added chemicals you are less likely to suffer from any irritants to your skin; there is also less risk of an allergy, as it will not clog your pores.”

Would you recommend organic makeup for someone with acne problems?
