Kukui Nut Oil
Kukui nut oil is a wonderful oil for all skin types, especially mature skin.
It is good for many skin conditions, kukui oil for psoriasis, dry skin, damaged skin, acne, sensitive and babies skin, has been very effective.
Kukui oil comes from Hawaii, and the women have been using it for many, many years to protect their skin, from the sun, windburn and salt water.
Kukui in Hawaiian means “‘enlightenment’. A name certainly benefiting this wonderful oil.
Some may not have heard of this oil before, as only recently its benefits for the skin are becoming more and more well known. It also goes by the name of Candlenut.
Being a natural oil, like rosehip oil, it works with the body’s natural healing process. Using this oil on its own, it will work deep into the skin helping your pores breathe.
Organic kukui oil contains vitamin A, E, and is very high in oleic acid (omega 9), linoleic acid (omega 6) and alpha linolenic acid (omega 3). All the antioxidants needed to keep your skin looking younger.
Kukui nut oil can give your skin a protective shield without blocking pores, and does not leave a greasy film. The skin readily absorbs the oil, and is very protective in helping the skin retain moisture.
When used regularly, kukui nut oil can help reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
The oil is a lovely natural alternative to use on your skin if you have sunburn, and the roughest, driest skin will notice a huge difference in appearance and smoothness.
Many skin care companies are now including this oil in their products, and it is also used in sun protection products.
The only problem with the oil is it has a very short shelf like and can go rancid very quickly. It is often used as carrier oil for aromatherapy.
It can be used on babies with cradle cap, added to a bath for a wonderful relaxing treat.
Organic kukui oil is very popular for helping prevent stretch marks during pregnancy, and will help to lighten stretch marks for those already suffering with them.
Use pure kukui nut oil on the ends of your hair to keep your hair conditioned and strong, or put a few drops into your favourite shampoo or conditioner.
