Peace of mind comes from not wanting to change others, but by simply accepting them as they are. True acceptance is always without demands and expectations. GERALD G. JAMPOLSKY

Importance Of Drinking Water

The importance of drinking water for our bodies is paramount to our health; it makes up to 70% of our body weight.

Safe drinking water is of course paramount to a healthy body, and perfect drinking water is filtered.

We need it for hydration (water levels in our body).  Without water we would of course dehydrate and our organs would shut down.

We use the water in our bodies for many things, such as; tears, saliva (needed for eating), and sweat (for cooling the body), and we need water to help keep us looking young.

The body will always give signs of when it needs water; you can feel thirsty, have a headache, feel fatigued, dry eyes and mouth, dry lips, loss of appetite, or urine may be dark in colour.

If you don’t drink  enough when your body is displaying any of these signs, it can affect your thinking and physical performance.

Your body can also give a sign of feeling hungry, when in fact you may actually be thirsty..

So instead of eating, try drinking a glass of water first, and you can put off eating something for another hour or so, and help with weight loss.

Smoking and alcohol have a huge effect on the body, if you consume too much alcohol, it will certainly decrease the amount of water in your body.  This is that dry feeling in the mouth you get after a night of drinking, and your body is craving water the next day.

When exercising, make sure you always sip enough of it during your workout.  And finish off whatever  is left in your bottle at the end of your workout session.

I once knew a girl who would come to the gym and workout for an hour or more, and never once would she drink water during her workout, she looked tired, her skin looked aged and lined, and her eyes looked sunken and very dark underneath.

She would always work up a sweat and not replace it with any fluids; I can only imagine she would be aging twice as fast, and who knows what she is doing to herself in the long term.

It is crucial to our health, and great for those dieting as it helps suppress your appetite, reduces body fat, maintain muscle tone, eliminates toxins and waste, increases energy and has zero calories.

In fact, it is actually responsible for helping cure many ailments such as: alcohol dependency, chronic fatigue syndrome, high blood pressure, diabetes, headaches, colitis, lower back and neck pain, to name a few.  Overall it helps to keep your immune system healthy and keep you looking younger.

Eat foods which have a high water content such as fruits, vegetables and sprouts, and if you are consuming them regularly your body is getting an abundance of water.  If you consume a lot of low water content foods (processed foods) your body would obviously be functioning at an unhealthy level.

Every morning upon rising, I drink 2 glasses of lukewarm water; I just heat it up in a pot on the stove.  I have been doing this for the past 9 years and I don’t think I have ever missed a morning.

Doing this helps in many ways, first you are getting your digestive system ready for food, it helps hydrate the body after so many hours of sleep, and rids the body of toxins which have stored up over night. It also improves skin tone and helps maintain weight loss.

The recommended amount to drink a day is around 8 glasses.  Some days I probably drink two litres and others maybe one litre, if I feel thirsty I drink and  eat lots of fruit in between meals.  When I go to the gym I make sure I drink all the water in my bottle, as well as the 2 glasses first thing in the morning and 3 to 4 cups of green tea

I usually fill a litre bottle up so I can keep track of how much I am drinking.

I don’t spend money on bottled water, but I do have a filter at home, there is too much hype for me regarding tap water.   Whenever I go out I fill up a small bottle and put it in my handbag.

The importance of drinking water is paramount to helping you stay looking younger.

Thank you for your comments on the importance of water for younger looking skin.

I had been chronically dehydrated for years without realizing it.

So I started to actually measure how much water I was drinking daily and I was surprised to find out that I was only drinking a few glasses a day.

So I stopped drinking a lot of the other beverages such as tea, coffee, juices, etc., and started drinking just filtered water. I committed to drinking about half my body weight in ounces of water in order to re-hydrate my body.

I started to notice more energy and better digestion. However, when I started drinking alkaline, ionized water, the changes in my health and skin were dramatic!

Even in my fifties, my skin became noticeably softer and clearer. Unfortunately, the wrinkles haven’t disappeared, but the lines have diminished.

I have to say that I have tried numerous facial creams and products but nothing has had more of an effect on my skin than drinking water!
