How To Make LSA For Better Health
How to make lsa is so simple and easy.
It offers many great health benefits for your body as it is high in antioxidants.
L.S.A. Linseeds (also known as flaxseeds), Sunflower seeds and Almonds is a good source of protein, essential fatty acids, minerals and fibre and is definitely an anti aging mixture.
You can make your own as I normally do, or you can buy L.S.A. already made up at most health food shops, and supermarkets. If you are going to buy it; I think it is better to buy it from a health food shop, and check the ingredients to make sure there is no soy.
If you can make the time, it is far better for you to make it yourself it only takes about 15 min.
L.S.A.
- 3 cups linseeds (flaxseeds)
- 2 cups – sunflower seeds
- 1 cup almonds (use raw almonds)
Mix and grind (a regular coffee grinder will do the job) until fine and store in a dark (I wrap paper around the glass jar) airtight glass jar and put it in the fridge.
Sprinkle on fruit, vegetables, pasta, rice, coleslaw, fruit salad, and pancakes. Put into rice, cottage cheese, yogurt, smoothie or just about anything.
Remember, when increasing your intake of dietary fibre it is important to drink more fluids ie. water.

Linseeds also known as (flaxseeds) - are very low in carbohydrates and high in nutrition.
Great for your skin, help clear up acne, assist in burning fat and building muscle. Good for your heart, may even help with depression and can help with constipation.
Linseeds are high in omega-3 oils, and are the richest plant source of omega-3 fats, essential for heart, joints, healthy brain and immune system. They have a high content of plant chemicals known as phytoestrogens, (antioxidants).

Sunflower seeds - are very nutritious to the body, they contain, protein and fiber, plus important nutrients such as vitamin E, selenium, magnesium, copper, zinc, folate, iron and phytochemicals, (non-nutritive plant chemicals that have protective or disease preventive properties).
They are much richer in antioxidants than most other nuts, they are filled with potassium which helps flush and reduce sodium in the body.

Almonds – full of protein, known to help reduce cholesterol, heart disease, high blood pressure and may even aid weigh loss.
A good source of manganese, copper and vitamin B2, which helps fight against ‘free radicals’ and increase oxygen-based energy production which promotes the antioxidant molecule, glutathione (a small molecule made up of three amino acids, which exists in almost every cell of the body).
Health Benefits of L.S.A.
- A well-balanced source of Omega-3 and Omega-6 Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs).
- A great source of dietary fibre which helps to remove toxins from the body.
- Protein which is necessary for healthy muscles, blood and organs.
- Gluten free.
- Rich in Antioxidants.
- Very low carbohydrate – good for diabetics and athletes.
A great health snack to make up, if you don’t get around to making the L.S.A. is to put some of each nut into a small container and pop it into your bag. This way, while at work or on the go, you have something healthy to munch on when you feel hungry. Also add other nuts such as pumpkin seeds, goji berries, sultanas etc.
I usually have my lsa in a smoothie; I make it with my own almond milk. I put in two tablespoons of L.S.A. some blueberries, teaspoon of organic honey, almond milk, whizz away and drink, it is yummy and nutritious.
You can add whatever you like; yogurt, protein power, anything else you fancy to make a great, nutritious, anti aging drink.
