Health Benefits Of Tomatoes

The health benefits of tomatoes will give you good health and help you fight aging.

Tomatoes contain a powerful antioxidant called lycopene, in fact, tomatoes have the highest amount of  lycopene than any other food.

This is what gives tomatoes their lovely red color.

Lycopene has been extensively studied, and has been proven to show amazing results in helping to prevent certain cancers such as; prostrate, lung and breast.

Tomatoes are an excellent source of vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin K, potassium, niacin, and folate.  They can also be included on the list of fat burning foods.

Since our bodies can’t produce lycopene, you need to get it from food.  It’s a wonderful antioxidant and able to protect your skin from aging.

The father of my children is Italian and every year his family make their own tomato sauce, which stands to reason why everyone in the family has such lovely skin.  They grew up eating tomato sauce in soups and pasta nearly everyday.

Tests on lycopene in tomatoes has shown it to be absorbed into the body at least five times more efficiently, when the tomatoes are cooked into a sauce, puree, tomato ketchup or juice.

This is a great way to protect you from premature aging.

Eating the tomatoes raw, you will still get anti aging benefits, only lycopene is better absorbed through processed tomato products.

It has been discovered that tomatoes can also help protect your skin from harmful UV rays from the sun. 

Just by including tomato paste, pasta sauce or tomato ketchup into your daily diet will do wonders not only for wrinkles, but help give you added protection for your skin.

More health benefits of lycopene

Imagine your skin, if you include tomato sauce or paste into your diet! And best of all, no matter how you include tomatoes into your diet, tomatoes are non fattening.

Sometimes I will put tomato paste and olive oil on toast, it makes a great healthy anti aging snack.

If your kids are anything like mine, and can never have enough sauce on their chips, give them tomato ketchup and sit back and relax, knowing they are getting the amazing health benefits of tomatoes.

Gone are the days when I am fighting with my son to give me back the bottle sauce!

Having said that, make sure you buy the organic tomato ketchup, as this contains up to 3 times the amount of lycopene than non organic. 

Did you know you can even buy beauty products with tomato in them!  This is used to help protect your skin from the sun.

    I use tomato ketchup only to crack my taste buds but now i realize how beneficial is organic tomatoes and even it helps prevent UV rays is unbelievable until now thanks for sharing a very useful article with skin care tips and suggestion.
