Health Benefits Of Kombucha Tea

The health benefits of kombucha tea (pronounced com boo cha) are many, and this tea is a great anti aging drink.

Many people drink the tea for liver health and detoxification, therefore enjoying great health.  And if you have optimum health you will also be enjoying looking younger !

There is no scientific evidence kombucha tea can do the things it claims it can for your health, although many will argue the tea is doing them tremendous justice, and they have never felt better!

kombucha culture for making kombucha tea

Popular with many celebrities, it is gaining quite a following regardless of the lack of scientific research.

The kombucha tea actually dates back to the early 250′s BC, now that’s a long time ago!  It originated in Japan and China.

The fact that kombucha tea has been around for so long, is testimony itself there is goodness to be had by drinking it.

Many make their own kombucha tea, and although this may seem a little off putting at first, just remember, like anything, it gets easier and easier.

There are some people who claim they cannot stand the taste, and others who just love it.  It tastes like a sweet and sour drink; although the taste can vary depending on what type of tea you use.

How to make it

First you need a kombucha culture, which looks like a pancake, and is made from symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast, or known as ‘scoby’.

Symbiotic is a close relationship between two species, in this case the culture of bacteria and yeast.

Here is a site which explains how to make it, and offers a free culture.

You boil water, add white sugar, your green or black tea.

The culture scoby, is then placed in a jar with the sweetened green tea or black tea.  You then get a jar full of vitamins, minerals, and enzymes, (types of proteins).

Every time you make a batch of kombucha tea, a new layer will form on the surface of the liquid.  You can either leave it there, or it can be divided up, giving you spare scoby.  You may even want to give some to family and friends, so they to can enjoy the wonderful health benefits of this tea.

If you divide the scoby up, you can use one to make another batch of tea.

If making the tea is not your thing, try buying a bottle at your nearest health food store and enjoy the many health benefits of kombucha tea!

When you reach the age of 60, the human growth hormone (affects metabolism, immunity, development and growth) levels in your body would have gone down by 80% compared to what you have as a 20-year old. Reduced levels of HGH can lead to signs of aging such as lowered libido and energy, muscle loss, unexpected weight gain, rapid deepening of wrinkles as well as sagging skin.
