Growth Hormone Deficiency

These days many people suffer from a growth hormone deficiency.

Human growth hormone (HGH) is fast becoming of particular interest, to those wanting to look younger and especially those over a certain age, wanting to get back their strength and vitality.

It can definitely be confusing, trying to sort through all the information to determine if taking a human growth hormone supplement will be good for you.

If you are thinking about taking it, then you definitely don’t want to take this on without doing a lot of research.  Don’t believe all the hype these big companies tell you about their product, find out the pros and cons first.

What Is Human Growth Hormone?

It is actually a powerful hormone, which occurs in the human body naturally.  It is secreted by the pituitary gland in the brain and stimulates growth of muscle, cartilage, and bone.

This hormone peaks during puberty and from then on it’s all down hill as the production of this hormone declines as you get older, like everything else!

It is believed by some this declining hormone is responsible for the frailty of old age, and this is what has inspired people to turn to injections of a synthetic human growth hormone (HGH), to help reverse the aging process.

You can get human growth hormone on prescription from your doctor, and it is administered by an injection, two or three times a day.  Could get quite expensive!

Human growth hormone was very popular amongst sports people, until it was banned in 1989.  Many sports people would take a  human growth hormone injection, as it helped to increase their muscle size, and allowed tired muscles to recover quicker so they could train harder and more often.

There are still a lot of studies needed on human growth hormone, and some evidence suggests side effects are more common in an older adult than a younger adult.  Although it still is not clear if these side effects could clear up or get worse.   There is definitely more research needed to be done.

Who needs to take HGH

It is currently being used to treat adults who actually have a growth hormone deficiency.  A deficiency can be caused by radiation, surgery to the pituitary gland, and pituitary tumors.

Human growth hormone is also used for children with kidney failure, short stature, muscle wasting from AIDS and HIV, and other health problems such as certain syndromes.

HGH Side Effects

There are many doctors and nutritionists who do believe that you should get this hormone from natural sources, and not injections.

Boost your human growth hormone naturally

Strength training is a good way to increase this hormone.  This does not mean you have to go and join a gym, although it probably wouldn’t be a bad idea!   Here is some information on starting a strength training and running program at Carvey Running Tips.

You could do a Pilate’s class, or find an adult gymnastics in your area, or go to your favourite search engine and look for ‘body weight training’ and get some ideas to do stuff at home.

Get enough sleep, studies have shown that this growth hormone is produced during the later stages of sleep, so try to aim for seven to eight hours of sleep each night.  If you are not getting this amount of sleep each night, once you do, you will really feel and look great.

Try not to stress out to much, meditation or relaxation classes are good are good to do.

Last but not least laughter, nothing beats laughing more for a growth hormone deficiency.  Here’s a good one ‘he who laughs at himself, will never suffer from lack of entertainment’.  This has helped get a laugh out of me quite often.
