Dry Brushing Your Skin
Dry brushing your skin leaves you not only feeling good, it is a very effective way of helping the body get rid of toxins.
I highly recommend skin brushing as a part of your anti aging regimen.
There are so many health benefits of skin brushing, and it just takes a few minutes each day and is well worth it. It is a lovely way to detox the body naturally.
Your skin is the largest organ, and waste products are expelled through your skin. When the pores of the skin become clogged by dead skin cells, these impurities will stay in your body. Your other organs such as the liver and kidneys will need to work harder to help the body get rid of them.
As your skin is continuously renewing itself, by dry brushing your skin, you get rid of the dead skin layers and help speed up the renewal process. Toxins in your sweat can leave the body much more easily.
Having a build up of dead skin cells can lead to other health problems such as; psoriasis, eczema and acne.
Benefits of Skin Brushing

Dry Brushing Your Skin
There are a couple of ways recommended, which ever way you do, you will gain the full benefits.
The best time to dry brush your skin is before a shower.
You can start at the soles of your feet or the top of your head.
Brush in sweeping strokes, or some people suggest brushing in small circular motion.
I like to brush in long sweeping strokes, but I think it is just a matter of what suits you.
Work your way up to your torso, then brush from the tips of your fingers down your arms towards your heart, then up over your buttocks and lower back, and then from the shoulder area down the top half of your back.
Brush down gently over your breasts, and brush up over your tummy area, all the time going towards your heart.
Don’t brush over varicose veins and avoid your face, exfoliate your face instead.
Always brush up towards your heart, don’t brush away from your heart as this puts unnecessary pressure on veins and lymph vessels. You can also cause varicose veins if you brush away from the heart.
Women who are pregnant can enjoy dry skin brushing, just brush your tummy gently, you can put more pressure on the rest of your body.
At least once a week wash your brush in warm soapy water and allow to dry in the sun.
Get yourself a long handled brush made with soft, natural hair. You can buy one at Target, Priceline even some supermarkets have them.
One with a long handle is much better for skin brushing your back.
Don’t use synthetic or nylon bristles as these are too sharp to use on your skin. Once you have mastered the skin brushing you will feel wonderful.
Skin brushing has given me very soft skin, dry brushing your skin is definitely the way to go for helping to keep you looking younger.
