Benefits Of Kelp

The benefits of kelp are widely used for your health and kelp benefits are also used in beauty products.

Kelp supplements and powder are available for the inside of your body, and you can take advantage of kelp’s wonderful properties for the outside of your body to help your anti aging regimen.

Sea kelp facts – it is a brown seaweed Benefits Of Kelp  and in some parts of the world such as Japan, Alaska and Hawaii kelp is a part of the normal diet.

macrocystis pyrifera kelp 217x300 Benefits Of Kelp

It is very beneficial for people who suffer with low thyroid function, pregnant women and people on a low salt diet.

This seaweed contains 23 minerals, including chlorophyll, folic acid, vitamins A, B12, D and iodine.  Iodine in particular is not stored in the body, it needs to be taken on a daily basis, it is very important for efficient functioning of the metabolism, 1.

The amount of iodine a person needs in a life time is very minimal, it is less than a teaspoon.

Kelp benefits

If you have a thyroid gland problem, kelp has been used to help, and is sometimes recommended by herbalists, 2.  In order for your thyroid to function properly, it needs iodine from a natural food base.  The best source of this is kelp, as the iodine is food based and it does not accumulate in the body.

Other natural sources to find iodine are cereals, pulses, fresh foods, seafood, poultry, meat and eggs; sea salt on the other hand contains very little iodine.

It also contains sodium alginate, which is very good for the body’s removal of heavy metals, and contains alkali, which is important for your body’s ph chemistry.

If your body does not maintain a proper ph balance, it does not function properly.  You can suffer from things like acid indigestion, because your body has too much acid and not enough alkaline.  Alkali will help bring your body back into balance when it gets too acidic.

Kelp is marketed as a weight loss product, as it can help stimulate your metabolism, and is used to control appetite, also by bringing your bodies ph back into balance, you may be able to lose those stubborn pounds.

Sprinkle a little bit of kelp powder on food, or take in capsule form, will help regulate your system and provide you with all the vitamins and minerals you need.

If you are taking it, or considering taking it, check your other supplements just to make sure they do not contain iodine.  You don’t want to take too much of it on a daily basis.

It is used in many skin care products, as it has been proven to be very beneficial in keeping aging at bay.  The vitamins and minerals it contains help to keep the skin nourished and moisturized.  The seawater in the seaweed is very similar to human plasma, so using it everyday for your skin care, is an ideal way for your skin to get all the nutritional benefits it needs.

It can also be found in some cellulite creams, as it helps to regenerate body tissue and improve circulation.

Kelp powder tastes TERRIBLE, it’s like having a mouthful of seawater yuk! On a brighter note, you can always take kelp supplements.

The benefits of kelp are truly amazing!

I was on Synthroid and Levothyroxine for hasimoto’s ( low thyroid) Both made me break out in hives, itch and clearly my body was rejecting them. I didn’t lose anyweight and my thyriod did not even out. I started taking 1 kelp supplement a day one week ago and I’ve lost 10lbs. Im not itchy, I feel better, my mind is more clear. For me it is working for my thyriod issues with no negative effects

Does kelp assist in getting rid of cellulite? Have had a big problem with it all my life no matter how much weight I’ve lost and/or how slender I have gotten!

I would recommend you guys to try it out. Take a high amount of kelp for say a couple of weeks and see how you feel about it and how your body reacts on it.

Kelp is a natural product (exclusive the adds on in the kelp supplement tablets, such as for instance bulking agents and the like). So no real “drug” at all, hence very low downside (side effects) and extremely high upside potential (health benefits).

I take kelp and other supplements (spirulina, chlorella etc) but since I added kelp (some months ago), I felt a considerable “feeling better”. I felt like “flying”; no more low level chronic fatigue and a kind of boosted mental and physical well being.

I know this sounds a bit of too good to be true story, and it might be very well be a spurious correlation or even a placebo effect (or both together, or something out of my domain of understanding), but as it works for me, at least so far. So the real underlying explanation is of lower importance for me.

So, how did you feel by taking kelp?
