Benefits Of Eating Honey
The benefits of eating honey are not only that it tastes great, it is a wonderful alternative to sugar and gives your body antioxidants to help fight aging.
Honey has been used in the cosmetic industry for many years and is well known for its healing properties.
I often make a home made face mask with honey, it makes my skin look younger and smoother.
I also use honey with sugar as a facial scrub.
I always knew it was good for you on the outside, now I include more of it on the inside.

Comparing honey to all the other types of sweeteners available, honey would definitely be the healthiest choice a person can make.
A teaspoon of honey has at least 22 calories compared to around 16 calories in one teaspoon of sugar. Even though the honey calorie intake may be higher, you need to use less of it because it is sweeter.
Honey contains no cholesterol, 22 amino acids (the building blocks of protein), vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. It is a great killer of germs and bacteria, and is more effective than some antibiotics.
Studies have revealed the dark color honey such as Wildflower and Buckwheat possess more antioxidants than the light coloured varieties.
By using honey, you get all the added health benefits which are not found in sugar.
I have always used brown or raw sugar, thinking this was a healthier choice yet I was sadly mistaken. Like white sugar, brown and raw are also empty calories.
Fructose found in honey, fruit, and some vegetables, is a natural sugar which burns slowly in the body, to give you long lasting energy, unlike ordinary sugar.
When a person has a diet which includes sugar, the body needs to use its storage of vitamins and minerals to digest the sugar. In doing this, the body is then left without these important nutrients.
We need these nutrients to help the body dissolve fats and cholesterol. Without them, you will put on weight.
As honey already contains all these nutrients, you are more likely to lose weight.
If you are following the GI (glycemic index) diet, honey has a low gi compared to sugar. This would be a far better choice to put in your tea or coffee.
The body can easily metabolize honey and is a great alternative for people who can’t stomach sugar.
