Benefits Of Brown Rice

The benefits of brown rice are phenomenal, and it is highly recommended by nutritionists and dietitians as an excellent source of nutrition.

The nutritional value of brown rice can help slow down the aging process, and help you lose weight.  In fact you will also find it on the list of fat burning foods.

Eating white rice will not give you the nutrition your body needs, it is lacking in many vitamins and minerals such as; vitamin E, B, B3 B6, potassium, magnesium, iron, thiamin and niacin.

There is a great difference between brown and white rice, although they do come from the same plant the difference is in the hulling of the grain.

Brown only has the hull removed (the outer most layer) leaving a lot of the goodness.

White rice on the other hand is the starchy middle section of the grain, this contains far less nutritional value.   Most of the phosphorus, iron, manganese, all  dietary fiber  and many other vitamins are removed.

Calories in brown rice can vary, I have found basmati brown rice has the least calories, yet there is no fear of putting on weight eating it.

Your body needs fiber and by doubling your fiber intake you can definitely lose weight, besides rice some other fiber foods are apples, strawberries and chick peas.

Cooking Brown Rice

It is usually best to first soak the rice for around 25 to 30 min before cooking, this will help soften the bran layer on the rice.

1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water.

Nutritional Benefits of Brown Rice

It also contains the mineral silica, which is why it  is the perfect anti aging food.  Silica deletes as we age, unless you are taking a silica supplement, you will need to get it from what you eat.  Brown rice is the perfect food to provide this very important mineral.

Health Benefits of Brown Rice; helps aid digestion, relieve constipation, cure diarrhea, good body building food, promote strong healthy hair, teeth and nails, control cholesterol, beneficial for stomach and intestinal ulcers, help control blood sugar and help reduce risk of colon cancer.

Cooking brown rice is easy and a great compliment to whatever you are eating, I love the benefits of brown rice and eat it at least 3 to 4 times a week.

    Hi
I have brown rice 3 times a week. I just eat BR with ground sesame seeds mixed with a little bit of salt. Chew at least 50 times per teaspoon until it becomes water. I can guarantee that you can loose weight in 4 days and in a good way. You can eat BR along with vegie BUT no meat.

I’ve grown eating white rice and didn’t know that brown rice is good to eat. I’ve always think that brown rice is not good to eat since my mother always avoided buying brown rice in the market. Reading your post, I will try to eat brown rice and see what happens. ThanksKatie Smith

The nutritional content of brown rice is very beneficial. I don’t really eat brown rice because I don’t like the taste. Reading this post, I remember about white people and black people. That black people have more resistance.

Didn’t pay attention to this before, but its definitely a gold mine for rice lover…brown rice may have been a better healthier staple food but the price shows the difference, the production also shows lesser availability than that of the staple white rice.

I don’t particularly like brown rice but i eat it because its healthy. i do not mind the slight difference in taste than white rice. My problem is, I usually have to have a separate white rice for my husband who hates eating brown rice. He’s really a traditional person and traditionally, we eat white rice. How can I make brown rice more appealing to my husband? I want the whole family to enjoy brown rice and its healthy benefits.

Brown rice texture is a little bit coarse. It’s a great source of fibre and vitamins. Consuming it will keep you full for a long time. This brown rice is a great diet food. Thank you for posting this food.
